Everyone knows that as we get older, our brains get smaller. Unfortunately, one of those horrifying but inevitable “facts of life” is that we are all doomed to a future of remorselessly shrinking brains. There’s nothing we can do about it. What is the perfect way to find the age calculator?
The good news is that this turns out not to be the case. We should be extremely wary of “everybody knows” operations because virtually all such rumors are wrong. It seems that “everybody” is almost always in the dark about anything that could give us cause for optimism. In all honesty, I believe that at this time, “everybody” knows next to nothing. Most of what passes for information in today’s so-called “information age” is background noise meant to keep the general public in the dark.
As a result, many people have been misinformed for many years that they will continue to lose brain capacity as they age. Hearing that your brain is destined to atrophy should serve as a sobering reminder that a decline in cognitive abilities is unavoidable. Moreover, it tells you that no matter how well you take care of yourself, your brain will continue to shrink, so there’s not much point in doing so.
Our poor, tired, overworked brains! They appear to be diminishing even if they are not ill. They can’t handle even a small amount of pressure without melting down and must be constantly propped up by chemicals. How did we create complex societies before psycho-pharmacology and its endless supply of chemical aids? It’s no surprise that so many people feel down.
But now that we have more information, we realize that medication alone will not cure depression. (that will probably shrink your brain and thus make the prophecy come true). Truthfully, that is the case. There appear to be industries (possibly the same ones) on this slightly insane planet that grow fat while keeping us ignorant of ourselves, just as industries produce fat to keep us sick.
New research published in Neuropsychology, the journal of the American Psychological Association, suggests that studies purporting to show that older brains (even healthy ones) are significantly smaller than younger brains failed to do so because they failed to exclude participants with undiagnosed brain diseases that were responsible for the loss of brain cells and the resulting reduction in gray matter volume. That is to say, previous studies exaggerated the extent to which aging causes brain atrophy while underestimating the size of a typical aging brain.
The shrinking of the brain, long thought to be an inevitable part of getting older, is now thought to be more likely the result of a medical condition. That is to say; mental decline need not entail physical change. If you take care of yourself by eating right, exercising regularly, not abusing alcohol or drugs, and keeping your mind active, it is doubtful that this will happen to you.
Dementia risk can be reduced using natural health strategies, as demonstrated. Exercising regularly, eating sensibly, reducing stress, getting enough sleep, and supplementing with vitamins and herbs are all tried-and-true methods for preventing and reversing a wide range of chronic diseases and conditions.
Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia may be avoided, and normal brain function maintained with the help of vitamin D and the Mediterranean diet. Wild blue-green algae are often touted as a miracle superfood because it contains many nutrients necessary for maintaining brain power and cognitive health.
